Dr. Paul R. Corts

Dr. Corts has had a distinguished career in higher education, government, and civic life.  Corts holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown College, a master’s and Ph.D. from Indiana University.  He began his academic career as a faculty member at Western Kentucky University (WKU), he took on administrative duties as Director of International programs (overseeing large international grants for consulting services and collaborative academic programs), and then served as Associate Dean (Vice President) for Instruction.  While at WKU he helped to develop a new university on a U. S. Army base at Ft. Campbell through a consortium of seven institutions.  He left WKU to serve as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at Oklahoma Baptist University; five years later he became president of Wingate University (NC); and then he assumed the presidency of Palm Beach Atlantic University (FL).  Corts left the university world to accept appointment by U. S. President George W. Corts returned to academe as the president of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU), the leading international association for faith-based institutions.   While at CCCU, Corts visited more than 100 campuses throughout the U.S. and numerous other countries, retiring in 2012.  In 2013, Corts began serving as a higher education consultant focusing on assisting governing boards and university leaders to improve their governance, planning, implementation and finances.  He stresses analytics as crucial to problem analysis and problem solving.  He has traveled in all of the 50 United States and in more than 50 countries around the world, and his travel experiences combined with those from his career in higher education, government, and civic organizations provide a unique perspective to inform his penetrating analysis and advice as an international consultant.
